Start with something that matters to you
Choose a task you want to feel comfortable doing: sending a photo, making a video call, adjusting text size, finding a message, or using an app. Working towards one clear goal can be less overwhelming than trying to learn every setting at once.
Practise on your own device
Bring the phone, tablet or computer you normally use. We can explain a step, let you try it, and go over it again. Ask for short written instructions that match the screens you see rather than a long list of unfamiliar terms.
Arranging help for a parent
Explain the goal with your family member before booking. Ask whether they would like you there, and share only the information needed to arrange the visit. Assistance with an account does not mean giving someone else unrestricted access to it.
Local visits and suitable remote sessions
Home visits are available across the listed Okanagan service area, with availability confirmed when booking. Remote help can be useful when the device and connection allow it; a visit may be easier for hands-on setup or learning several devices.
Questions before you book
Can you help with both Android phones and iPhones?
Tell us which phone you use and what you want to learn. TechBuds offers everyday phone and tablet help; the exact steps depend on the device and software version.
Will I need to share my passwords?
No. Keep passwords, PINs and verification codes private. You can enter information yourself when a task requires it.
