Remote tech help, with you in control

Remote support can help with everyday computer settings, software and questions without a home visit. Start by describing the problem so we can check whether a remote session is suitable.

What remote help can cover

Software setup, updates, browser settings and walking through a task can be good candidates. A computer that will not turn on, a broken connection or a physical hardware fault may need in-person attention instead. Let us know what still works before booking.

Agree on the session first

Arrange support through TechBuds, then follow the instructions provided for your session. Depending on the type of assistance, you may be guided through steps or asked to approve a remote-access connection. Remote control may require software; we do not promise every session works without a download.

Prepare your device

Keep the device charged or plugged in, check the internet connection and have a way to talk with your technician. Close private documents and unrelated applications. Have the error message ready, but do not send passwords, PINs or verification codes.

End access when the session ends

Ask what was changed and what to do next. Close the support session and confirm that any remote-control connection has ended. Only approve access for support you arranged, and pause if an unexpected caller pressures you to connect.

Questions before you book

Do you need control of my computer?

It depends on the task. Some help can be guided; if remote control is needed, the technician should explain the connection and you must approve it.

What if the issue needs a home visit?

The technician can explain the next practical step. Home visits depend on your location and availability, and any further work should be agreed before proceeding.
